         I have been using AVAST for over 8 years now. The free version.
        I used to work on people's computers removing spyware. This allowed me 
        see what works and what doesn't. This is by far the best free program
        you will find. Of course a big bonus is, it is FREE. The only pain is every 6
        months they make you re-enter a new registration number. The whole process
        takes about 10 minutes. If you buy it, you don't have to do that anymore.
        It has not bothered me enough to buy it, though I really should since it has done an
        amazing job protecting all 5 of my computers.
